Hoopla gives you access to eBooks, eAudiobooks, & digital comics, plus music, movies, and TV shows—no waiting lists!

There is a community daily limit for Scotch Plains cardholders, to ensure we stay within our budget. Once that daily limit is reached, borrowing is suspended until the following day.

Get the Hoopla App

Download the Hoopla app from: The App Store; Google Play; or the Amazon App Store.

  • Select Scotch Plains Public Library
  • Enter your library card number
  • Enter your email address and create a password
Access Hoopla on a computer too
  • Go to hoopladigital.com
  • First-time Hoopla users: click Get Started and follow instructions to create a username and password.
  • Previous Hoopla users: click Log In and enter your email and password.
  • Search, place holds and borrow. Borrowed items will appear in your app as well.
Using Hoopla
  • Scotch Plains Public Library provides you 5 Instant Borrows each month. These Instant Borrows will reset every month.
  • Hoopla also offers BingePasses, which give you unlimited access to certain content (like magazines) with a single borrow!
  • Out of Instant Borrows? Use the Heart icon to save a title for later!
  • Borrow, stream, and download content on iOS, Android, Kindle Fire, and more.
Hoopla Music
  • With Hoopla you can access over 400,000 music albums! By allowing you to borrow full albums, Hoopla honors the artist’s vision.
  • Hoopla’s Shuffle feature allows users to mix tracks from multiple borrowed albums. 
  • Download albums to your Apple, Android, or Kindle Fire mobile device, or listen online with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Roku.

  • With a Hoopla “Bingepass” you get seven days of unlimited access to more than 100 popular magazines—like Us Weekly, Good Housekeeping, Prevention, Cosmopolitan, Reader’s Digest, In Touch, TIME, and more.
Hoopla Movies & TV Shows
  • Watch movies on Hoopla, from new releases to old favorites.
  • TV shows include series from AMC, BBC, Sundance Now, and Acorn TV.
