Special Screening of Flyways: The Untold Journey of Migratory Shorebirds
Monday, October 7, 2024 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

There are few creatures on earth more inspiring, more symbolic than birds. Each year, millions of shorebirds follow ancient flyways moving from the south of the planet to the north and back again. Like a rising and falling breath, the earth supports this mass movement of life. Yet many of us know little about them.
Shorebirds remain an untold story.
Join us for a screening of this award-winning documentary!
Flyways tells the story of the world’s most incredible athletes – shorebirds, who fly up to nine days non-stop without food or water!
But shorebirds are amongst the most threatened species on the planet, and their populations are crashing amidst climate change and urban development.
Flyways invites you to follow a conservation movement of bird-loving experts and citizen scientists as they mobilize to the challenge of understanding and saving shorebirds.
This is a story of hope and discovery as these birds traverse oceans and continents. Most importantly, Flyways informs us of the positive action we can take to stem the tide – on a local and global level.
Registration is recommended and will allow us to send you a reminder of the program.
You can make a difference in protecting bird biodiversity!
Information collected by bird watchers around the globe provides scientists with vital information on species survival and habitat loss. October Big Day (Saturday, October 12) is the perfect opportunity to contribute to citizen science, enjoy nature, and connect with a global community of bird lovers! Get ready by joining us for a workshop on Thursday, October 10 to learn about free, helpful apps you can download to help you identify birds and report your findings.
