Early Literacy Kits

Early Literacy Kits are designed to give some of our younger patrons an opportunity for hands-on experience with books and other interactive literacy materials to help further their educational needs on different topics. Each kit includes information and hands-on activities related to the subject.

STEAM Kits

Our STEAM kits are perfect for elementary students to explore interesting topics related to Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. Each kit features an educational activity and books related to the topic.

Yoto Collection – starting this Saturday 8/9/25!

Scotch Plains families can now borrow a Yoto Mini Player for up to 2 weeks!
The player comes with a travel case and headphones—perfect for listening on the go.

You can also check out up to 4 Yoto Cards at a time. These cards can be played using any Yoto Player or a smartphone with NFC capability.

Please note: Families are limited to borrowing a total of 4 audiobooks at a time, regardless of format. For example, if you’ve already checked out an audiobook on CD, it will count toward your total.

Like our other circulating kits, the Yoto Player and Cards can only be checked out on a Adult Scotch Plains Library card and must be returned directly to the Youth Services Department at Scotch Plains Public Library.
